Filling Orders

Monday, November 30, 2009
So, Liz, here they are. Ripe for the picking. You have first dibs on any of the totes you see.
These are the two boy ones. I have another of the wildlife totes, but you wanted two different ones for the guys so here they are.

The lining fabric on this one is so cute. I think any girl would love the birdies inside.

These are the newest three.
There are 11 girl totes, so just tell me which three you don't want and I'll ship the rest up to you.
Love you, and thanks a ton for your support.

A new batch

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

So here are the latest in my scripture tote array. I just finished adding flowers today and I am pretty happy with the way they turned out. I need to get all the practise I can making these because I'm teaching a class on how to make them at super saturday. How do I get myself into these things? So, another opinion poll, which type of flower do you like better? The daisy look or the frayed edge flower? Or do you think a mixture of both? p.s. don't you love the huge buttons? I found a whole bag of them at Michael's, I think I'll have to go get some more.

whaddaya think?

Friday, October 30, 2009
I have been asked a couple of times about making scripture bags for boys. I always worried that it would still look a little like a purse. But, with such masculine fabric, I think it looks just like what it is, a scripture tote for a boy. Except that it's not my opinion that counts. Would you buy this for your son? Or should I go back to the drawing board and come up with a different bag design that might be more appealing?

So this is a preview of a new table topper I am making for the fall season. I love these fabrics because while the colors are distinctly warm and autumnal in hue, they are not "themey" making them perfect for the season, or all year round if this is the pallate you surround yourself with.
I am also working with my cousin Katie, who makes such delightful vinyl creations, on putting together some holiday boutiques. We have a few along the Wasatch front and one huge one (hopefully) in St. George. Keep watching for more information.

When I showed her the table topper I made for the fourth, my Grandma requested I make a floral one for her. While I think this might be a little to "hip" for most grandmothers, it suits my grandma just right. I think it screams summer and I just love how it turned out. (so did she btw)

Custom Cards

Monday, July 27, 2009

There is nothing quite like making a custom order for someone. It's nice that the item you're making is already sold, but there is always the worry that what you're thinking and what they're thinking aren't the same thing. I still like how they turned out, and I think they liked them too.

Happy 4th- way late

Monday, July 13, 2009

Who doesn't want to celebrate the fourth in style? I mean, we live in such a great country, we should show how proud we are of it. So, here is my contribution: some terrific, aged blocks that spell out the name of this great place, and some bead-board faced stars that scream patriotism. And you can just see peeking out underneath a lovely holiday inspired quilted table topper to round out the theme. Fireworks anyone?

Clipboards

Thursday, July 2, 2009

I have started making clipboards, just for fun. I love having a small project that adds just a bit of color without having to be anything grand. I sell them for $5, but you can make your own, just start with a trip to Wal-Mart to find the clipboards.

Cards

I had a couple orders for some cards, so these are some of the results.

Random bag pictures

Here are some more pictures of the bags I make. There are two sizes pictured, but actually I make 3 different sizes. I love the pockets and the big one I made ties so you can jam stuff to the very top, and beyond!

custom letters

These were for a friend who wanted some letters cut for her baby's room. She was going to finish them herself with paint or paper, but even unfinished I think they turned out GREAT!

Fourth

Tuesday, June 9, 2009
This table topper is approx. 18 X 24 inches. It uses Zippidy Doo Dah fabric from Moda. I am selling it for $20.
This sign is for my friend who made this custom order. I hope it's everything she wants.

THE BAG!!

Saturday, May 23, 2009

Here are the much promised pictures of the new tote bag I have been making. And I have to say, they are selling faster than I can make them, which is fun. The down side to that is that I havn't had time to make myself one and I'm stuck using the hospital diaper bag, which I hate, and which inspired me to start making tote/diaper bags in the first place!! Oh well.
Someone left me a comment and I didn't even look to respond until now, I'm really sorry about that. I am a poor blog manager- and with the craziness of boutiques and making order after order, I barely have time to eat, let alone post. I will try to do better. I hope you found a great mother's day present, sorry I wasn't any help.

I won't promise a time table, but I will try to post pics of all the gorgeous fabrics I purchased for these bags. They are so great.

New additions

Wednesday, April 1, 2009
I have done this banner in felt before, but I loved the look of these fabrics and I just had to try making a banner using the wonderful, bright colors. I love how it turned out and I think I will make a few more of these for some boutiques I have coming up.
This is a baby burp cloth I have made. The dinosaur is appliqued on with adhesive and then sewn around for durability. I think he is very cute.

Another project comissioned by a friend. I love how the letters turned out. The tallest one is about 9 or 10". I think I will make at least one or two more sets. (one being for me of course)

a dash of spring

Saturday, March 21, 2009
Our friendly bunny, with a treat all his own.
Here's the whole set-up. This is another in the line of blocks I do. The bunny is handmade by me. I hand cut the letters out of textured cardstock, paint, sand and distress the blocks. The set is for sale. I added a small bit of hot glue on the bottom of the eggs so they will stand up in the different directions. Clever- no? (if you know anyone who might be interested in these blocks, feel free to leave a comment- or leave a comment if you like them- but if you don't like them keep your comment to yourself)

Creating again

Wednesday, January 28, 2009
I went into Robert's the other day and saw some Valentine's day blocks. They were so cute and they made me want to start making things again. So, even though I am severely sleep deprived (see my personal blog for more info) I got online yesterday to do more research on making tote bags. I had seen some at a boutique I had my things in and I wanted to make some myself. I'm not sure if I will make these to sell, I thought I would put them on here and see if there are any comments. Would you buy one? How much would you be willing to pay? $10, $15? This bag is the perfect size to hold a set of scriptures, in fact it will be a baptism gift for my daughter's friend. I thought about making smaller ones for little girls to play dress up with, and larger ones to use to slog all my stuff to church and to replace the hospital diaper bag that I am not loving. Any thoughts?
